Today I had the amazing opportunity to attend the CADET spring/summer 2016 Womenswear presentation at NYWF located at Pier 59 Studios. I really loved the design esthetic and the designer’s vision of the military style that carried over from Cadets menswear. The whole line really focuses on strong separates, and the clean-cut boldness really is appealing when seeing everything in person.
Something I think each designer will agree with and bring to the table this week during New York Fashion Week is the fact that fashion has no rules, and that’s the beauty of it. The outfit I decided to wear today embodies the element of no rules because the gray wool turtleneck cape in the above pictures was actually a wool skirt (As I recently learned). I realized this only after I bought it from Zara, but since I liked it more as a little sweater I saw no harm in wearing it how I wanted. I think sometimes you just need to step back and try to see things from a different point of view, and this goes for anything in life. Once you are open-minded enough to accomplish looking at things from different perspectives, you might actually find yourself liking the view better.
